Last month we made a blog post about reusing the leaves raked from the lawn. This post will explain using leaves to create lefmould in more detail.
Place the leaves inside a bin liner, moisten them if dry, now create holes in the bag with a sharp object. Finally tie up the top loosely and stack the bags out of the way and sight for up to two years.
Another way of making leafmould would require you to make a square or round frame from chicken wire or somthing similar, making sure the conrners or differnt parts of the cirlce are supported. To avoid leaves from being blown away by the wind, build this sturucture in a sheltered part of your garden.
When creating your leaf heap, make it as large as possible to speed up the decaying process, and moisten it periodically if it becomes dry. Most leaves take about two years to break down.
